Cheltenham Festival freak winner Mount Ida backed to scale another height

Remarkable Kim Muir winner Mount Ida is the subject of major support in the betting on Saturday afternoon in her clash with classy mare Elimay at Fairyhouse (2.20).

Mount Ida was 999-1 in running when trailing at the Cheltenham Festival but subsequently eased into the race and motored home for a six-and-a-half-length victory.

The Denise Foster-trained seven-year-old has been strongly backed on her first start since – in the Listed mares' chase (2.20) – shortening into 6-4 (from 9-4). Her chief rival Elimay has drifted to 4-6 (from 1-2).

The other significant mover on the day is in the competitive RYBO Handicap Hurdle with Great Bear now 8-1 (from 14-1).

The going ahead of the eight-race card at Fairyhouse has changed from yielding to yielding, good to yielding in places.

In Britain, Alright Sunshine is the one capturing the most attention in Musselburgh's feature Betway Queen's Cup (3.35) with support seeing him shorten to 7-1 (from 9) this morning.

The Keith Dalgleish-trained runner returns to the Flat after a good stint over hurdles. He finished second in a novice hurdle on his debut and was tested at Grade 2 level last time, although he only beat one home.

Alright Sunshine is four from four on his visits to Musselburgh and is continuing to close in on Nate The Great in the betting for the £75,000 handicap.

Debece is a notable non-runner in the staying chase final (2.40) at Haydock. Dan Skelton has taken him out of the race with the horse not sound.

He was a general 3-1 favourite for the race, which is one of seven live on ITV4 this afternoon. Defuture Is Bright currently heads the betting at 4-1.
