Time Test looks set to take his chance in the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes on Saturday, but trainer Roger Charlton on Monday admitted to keeping his fingers crossed that any thunderstorms miss the Knavesmire over the coming days.

The Beckhampton trainer said the four-year-old had come out of his third-placed effort behind Hawkbill in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown last month in good form and that he could be joined at York by stablemate Countermeasure, who finished in fourth, just over a further two lengths away.

Time Test is the sponsor's 4-5 favourite for the race after featuring among 17 entries yesterday.
