Champions Day absentee Hawkbill bound for Germany

Coral-Eclipse winner Hawkbill will step up in trip to a mile and a half for his final start of the season in next month's Group 1 Grosser Preis von Bayern, as trainer Charlie Appleby also revealed he will remain in training at four.

He said: "Hawkbill will head to Germany on November 1 for a Group 1 and stays in training next year.

"We might winter him in Dubai but whether he runs there I don't know; I think we've learned enough to know he's ideally suited with more ease in the ground, which is why he didn't run on Champions Day."
