Champion Bumper favourite to take Envoi Allen route to the Cheltenham Festival
Weatherbys Champion Bumper favourite Sir Gerhard is set to follow the path taken by the owner and trainer's Envoi Allen and run in the Goffs Future Stars Bumper on day one of the Dublin Racing Festival.
The unbeaten six-year-old, who joined Cheveley Park Stud and Gordon Elliott for £400,000 after winning a Boulta point-to-point, is priced between 9-4 and 3-1 for Cheltenham Festival glory, having looked a hugely exciting youngster in winning both bumper outings.
His latest success in the Listed BetVictor Future Champions Bumper at Navan saw him follow in the footsteps of fellow Elliott-trained Grade 1 winners Don Cossack, Death Duty, Samcro and Envoi Allen, and Cheveley Park racing manager Chris Richardson says a trip to Leopardstown on Saturday of next week could beckon.
