Carberry shows off riding skills in different sphere

Paul Carberry was back on horseback at Fairyhouse on Tuesday but the 42-year-old, who was forced to retire from race-riding due to injury early this month, was not making a shock return to the sport.

Instead he was promoting the launch of the 2017 BoyleSports Irish Grand National by popping one of his show jumpers over a couple of small fences for the assembled photographers.

"His name is Brandon View First Edition, although we call him Dougie," said Carberry, who won the 1998 Irish National on Bobbyjo and is now getting to grips with his future without race-riding.
