A 13-day turnaround between the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and Qipco Champion Stakes has always made a quick reappearance a tough assignment and both Adayar and Sealiway will be bidding to become only the third horses this century to triumph in the latter having run in the former.

Adayar also faces the additional challenge of dropping back to a mile and a quarter for the first time since chasing home Alenquer in the Sandown Classic Trial in April, when he posted a Racing Post Rating 8lb shy of his performance when fourth at Longchamp and a whopping 17lb below his peak when defeating Mishriff in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July.

It would be reductive in the extreme to assume Adayar's 112 rating at Sandown marks his limit at this intermediate trip, especially given he was racing against largely unexposed members of his own age group.
