Bryony is back! Frost reunited with old ally Black Corton for Sandown return
The returning Bryony Frost will be reunited with her long-time ally Black Corton as the duo bid for Grade 2 success in the bet365 Oaksey Chase at Sandown on Saturday.
Frost, who missed the Grand National due to a broken collarbone sustained in a fall last month, was a popular winner of the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival with Frodon and she once again partners the genuine Black Corton against seven rivals including Charbel, Definitly Red and Go Conquer.
The Paul Nicholls-trained runner has not found life outside of novice company easy this term, having finished second on his three previous starts, but will join stablemate San Benedeto in the 2m6f contest.
Cyrname, the highest-rated jumps horse in training, has not been declared and will parade instead with King George hero Clan Des Obeaux and Frodon.
The champion trainer elect will be strongly represented in the Grade 2 bet365 Select Hurdle, a race he last won with Ptit Zig in 2016, with the consistent Old Guard carrying top weight, and also holds an excellent chance with Getaway Trump in the opening novice hurdle.
Nicky Henderson, who will saddle the brilliant Altior in the Grade 1 Celebration Chase, has landed the Select Hurdle for the last two years and runs On The Blind Side, who returns to hurdles after being pulled up in the RSA Chase, Thomas Campbell and With Discretion.
Grade 1-winning novice hurdler Black Op will represent Tom George, while the ever-green Rayvin Black and Mia's Storm also feature.
