Eight-time champion female amateur Serena Brotherton reached a cherished milestone on Saturday evening with her 100th winner on the Flat – a rare and notable achievement given the small number of races available to amateurs.

Brotherton, 45, scored easily on the Rebecca Bastiman-trained Indian Chief, who won the 1m2f female amateur riders’ handicap at Nottingham by seven lengths to complete the century 17 years after the jockey’s first success on the Flat.
