British runners 'highly unlikely' at Dublin Racing Festival says track chief
Tim Husbands, the chief executive of Leopardstown, has admitted it is "highly unlikely" that the Dublin Racing Festival will have any British-trained runners next month.
Monsieur Lecoq (seventh in the Irish Champion Hurdle), La Bague Au Roi (fifth in the Irish Gold Cup) and Ena Baie (pulled up in the mares' handicap hurdle) were the three British representatives at last year's meeting.
The combination of Covid-19 and Brexit was always going to make British participation at this year's Dublin Racing Festival more difficult and Husbands was realistic in his assessment of the situation.
