Tiger Roll mark is fair - and that's good news for those lower down the weights

The time for talking about Tiger Roll's mark is over. Or rather it very much isn't, but it should be.

He will bid for a third successive Randox Health Grand National off a mark of 170. Despite what you might hear from his connections in the coming days, it is an entirely fair mark for a horse who essentially dotted up off 159 last April to take his second National.

If any further proof were needed, Tiger Roll remains a best-priced 6-1 shot for the race, a rarely short price at this stage. Furthermore, I would be inclined to think he'll be a little shorter on the day.
