'This is for the people who do the hard work'
I feel very privileged and very honoured to be asked to present the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards. It's one of the more important ceremonies of the racing year because it's for the people who do all the hard work – without them, people like me wouldn't have a job.
They're the backbone of racing and it's very important they get the recognition they deserve. And the ones at the awards ceremony are only the tip of the iceberg, there are so many others who do their bit to keep it all going. They work long hours, early and late, in all weathers, and they all deserve our thanks, not just the ones in the running for awards tonight.
It's very good of Godolphin to give these awards their backing and it's a big night for everyone. I'm really looking forward to being a part of it.
