The talk was about Bryony Frost, who has been at the centre of an explosive disciplinary hearing that concluded with Robbie Dunne being suspended from the sport for 18 months on Thursday.
The racegoer was right, Frost was in fact riding at Doncaster, but the shockwaves of the case reverberated around this sunny December day at jump racing’s most famous setting.
