Prescott hails retiring Cumani's 'great style, elegance and sharp intellect'
Sir Mark Prescott on Tuesday paid handsome tribute to his fellow Newmarket statesman Luca Cumani, praising the retiring trainer's style, mind and wit.
Cumani announced his plan on Monday to stand down by the end of the year, bringing to a close a 43-year training career.
Prescott, who along with Sir Michael Stoute are the two Newmarket residents who have trained longer than Cumani, said: "He's a man of great style and elegance, sharp intellect and with a very good, dry, sense of humour. He can get right to the point of any matter in a couple of sentences.
