One-horse parade: Tom George and Double Shuffle get in Virtual National spirit

The Tom George team were certainly in good spirits on Virtual Grand National day, recreating all the typical pre-race scenes before the big event.

George will be represented in this afternoon's simulation by Double Shuffle and Johnny Burke, and the pair featured in a video shared on Twitter this morning.

The clip sees the pair mimic the raceday build-up on the gallops at George's Down Farm stables. They have a photo with connections, have a pre-race parade, while a smartly dressed George gives his riding orders. Burke also features in the classic jockey photograph, but he is the only person in shot.

The end of the clip sees Double Shuffle run past George, who turns around with a beaming smile. A later clip sees Burke punching the air following his victory in the one-horse Down Farm National.

In this afternoon's Virtual Grand National Double Shuffle – once a close second in the King George VI Chase – is the 100-1 outsider of the 40 runners. Perhaps this will prove a good omen.

Top Ville Ben enjoys a quieter day

Phil Kirby has shared pictures of Top Ville Ben, another represented in this afternoon's Virtual Grand National. He is a 50-1 chance.

Bristol De Mai's part-owner Simon Munir shared this photo of his runner on Friday afternoon.
