Mick Appleby juvenile Big Evs primed for Nunthorpe showdown with Highfield Princess
Speedy two-year-old Big Evs is "99 per cent certain" to take on Britain's top sprinters in the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes at York this month as long as the ground is not too soft.
His trainer Mick Appleby believes Big Evs would have an "all right chance" against the likes of reigning champion Highfield Princess and King's Stand Stakes victor Bradsell in the £500,000 contest on August 25.
His all-the-way winner of the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood would need to be supplemented for the Group 1 York feature at the five-day confirmation stage at a cost of £40,000.
