Keeping a star for another year is great but will it be the Arc or nothing?

Let's be honest. The current Flat season has suffered from a paucity of bankable stars. It is with that in mind the news of Enable staying in training next year is received with particular warmth.
It is currently hard to see what will prevent her from dominating the middle-distance division again as a six-year-old, besides the effect of age itself.
The obvious place to look is to Sottsass and Japan, the
three-year-olds immediately behind her in the Arc. But on the evidence of Longchamp there is a fairly lengthy gap to bridge. That is assuming either stays in training themselves.
