'I genuinely believe we'll appreciate the 2021 Grand National more than ever'
Lee Mottershead talks to the ITV racing anchor who will be cheering Tiger Roll
Huw Edwards presented the BBC's 2019 general election night marathon knowing in no circumstances could he reveal who he wanted to emerge as prime minister. Had Ed Chamberlin been able to anchor what should have been ITV's coverage of the Randox Health Grand National, impartiality would have been more difficult to achieve.
Chamberlin adores Tiger Roll and would no doubt have made that clear had he spent this Saturday at Aintree racecourse. Instead, like most others, he will be at home, hoping a £10 wager on his favourite horse can deliver £50 for the National Health Service.
Chamberlin is not part of ITV's virtual Grand National programme because it is not made by the ITV Racing team that won a Bafta for its showcasing of the race three years ago. He is, however, one of only eight people to present the race on mainstream television, which he hopes to be doing again for the fourth time in 2021, providing a new broadcast deal can finally be signed.
