'I can't wait to get going' – Paul Nicholls as excited as ever
Paul Nicholls on Sunday took the wraps off a team that he said "fills me with excitement" for the new season, but he warned: "The emphasis is on youth and it’s going to take time to build to the top."
Referring to the trainers’ title he said: "I'm as hungry for winners as I’ve ever been, but at the same time I’m realistic. Our team isn’t strong enough to beat Nicky Henderson’s, unless the likes of Might Bite, Buveur D’Air and Altior underperform for some reason.
"I prefer to stress the positives, and we’ve managed to finish in the top two in the championship for each of the last 20 seasons, winning ten and runner-up in the other ten, which is a feat I’m really proud of.
