'I can't wait' - how Frankie Dettori reacted to the big Enable news
The news that Juddmonte owner Khalid Abdullah will keep dual Arc heroine Enable in training sent waves of delight through the racing world, with the reaction on social media overwhelmingly positive about the sporting decision.
Nine days had passed since Enable, a horse who the public have increasingly taken to heart as her sensational racing career developed, was defeated for the first time since April 2017 when Waldgeist denied her a historic third win in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Enable's connections had always stressed the decision was Abdullah's, but the announcement that the ten-time Group 1 winner would stay in training as a six-year-old was met with elation, none more so than by her jockey Frankie Dettori.
ITV's Ed Chamberlin and Racing TV's Tom Stanley were among members of the media salivating at the prospect of covering the next stage of Enable's stellar career, as Enable became the third-most trending subject on Twitter for a time.
Enable returned to action this season with victory by three-quarters of a length in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown. The Esher track is clearly keen to have the defending champion back in July.
Of course, with connections mentioning a return to Longchamp for another bid at history, thoughts turned to her price for the 2020 Arc.
