Stan
Red Rum Handicap Chase, Aintree, 2008

Coleman struck at Grade 3 level for the first time on the biggest of stages for his old boss Venetia Williams with Stan, who proved the best in the competitive Red Rum Chase at Aintree’s 2008 Grand National meeting.

The pair then combined just 13 days later for another major triumph, this time in Grade 2 company in the Silver Trophy at Cheltenham, and Stan was the first horse who truly cast the then 5lb claimer's name into the spotlight.

Kayf Aramis
Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle, Cheltenham, 2009

Winning at the Cheltenham Festival is a defining moment of any rider's career and Coleman earned his first success at the meeting with Kayf Aramis in the 2009 Pertemps Final.

Coleman's 5lb claim was a thing of the past and he was at his imperious best to deliver the then seven-year-old at just the right moment to account for Buena Vista by two lengths.

Houblon Des Obeaux
Denman Chase, Newbury, 2016

It is remarkable to think that Venetia Williams' stable stalwart Houblon Des Obeaux was steered to a Grade 2 novice chase victory by Coleman way back in 2012, and the 12-year-old continues to relish racing to this day.

Few horses could contend with Houblon Des Obeaux in his pomp on soft ground and his most impressive display came in the 2016 Grade 2 Denman Chase, when defeating The Giant Bolster, once a top-class performer, under Coleman by 28 lengths.

Fox Norton
Shloer Chase, Cheltenham, 2016

Colin Tizzard’s increasing willingness to call upon the services of Coleman proved a delight for the rider as Fox Norton put nine lengths between himself and seven rivals in the Grade 2 at Cheltenham.

Four months later the pair finished a head second to Special Tiara in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Festival.

Paisley Park
Stayers’ Hurdle, Cheltenham, 2019

Coleman's horse of a lifetime finally emerged in 2019 as the rapidly improving Paisley Park delivered the rider a first top-level success in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot.

The pair remain synonymous with each other and Paisley Park went on to confirm himself the star stayer of his generation when romping home in the Grade 1 at the Cheltenham Festival three months later to create a tearjerking moment as owner Andrew Gemmell celebrated the seven-year-old's success.
