Cumani hoping Group 1 winner can rediscover best form in open renewal

Luca Cumani admits it is only the absence of Postponed that could give Second Step any sort of chance in today's race, but the trainer is optimistic nonetheless.

A Group 1 winner in Germany last summer, Second Step began this season rated 118, only 1lb inferior to today's top-rated pair Dartmouth and Highland Reel.

However, after failing to live up to that mark this year, his rating has dipped to 110 - although it would be wrong to say he has been disgraced in his recent starts.
