All change at Jackdaws Castle as Minella leads Jonjo O'Neill team into battle
Jonjo O’Neill was looking to the future at his annual owners’ day on Sunday having made a significant investment in young bloodstock as he searches for the next Taquin Du Seuil, Holywell or More Of That.
In what he hailed as the start of a “three-year plan”, the Gold Cup and Grand National-winning trainer acknowledged he may lack 'Saturday horses' in the short term, while getting anywhere close to 100 winners for the season would be unrealistic, but is confident his Jackdaws Castle yard will again be competing with the best before too long.
“We won’t have a lot of good, Saturday horses but we’re lucky we’ve got nice young horses to build on and this is a three-year plan,” said the trainer as he entertained close to 100 owners.
