Blue De Vega among three to keep an eye on at Kempton tonight

Just the one evening meeting tonight, but Kempton's eight-race card, which starts at 5.20, has attracted decent fields. Here are three horses it could pay to follow.

Glendevon 5.55

Richard Hughes has been tearing his hair out over the 81 seconds he has had this year and will be hoping one of those – Glendevon –can go one better tonight. A son of Scat Daddy, the two-year-old ran into Godolphin hotpot Symbolization in a course-and-distance novice last month and a repeat of that effort should make him hard to beat. Bookmakers think so, offering 8-11 generally, and the Lambourn trainer will have his fingers crossed they are right.

Ennjaaz 7.25

Kempton is a happy hunting ground for Saeed Bin Suroor, so Ennjaaz is worth a second look on the card, especially as he will be ridden by apprentice David Egan, who has the bit between his teeth in his title tussle with Kieran Shoemark. At the start of play on Wednesday, Egan had a five winner lead over his rival and will be eager for a big effort from his only ride at the meeting. A winner in first-time cheekpieces 13 days ago, the lightly raced three-year-old wears them again tonight.

Blue De Vega 7.55

The £15,500 conditions race is the highlight of Kempton's card and plenty of eyes will be on Blue De Vega, who makes his debut for Robert Cowell. Held in the highest regard by former trainer Michael O'Callaghan and third in last year's Irish 1,000 Guineas, he has lost his way, but Cowell has a reputation for rejuvenating new arrivals, with two of his three Group 1 winners coming with horses who began their careers elsewhere.
