BHA targets US Jockey Club's Cathy O'Meara for new raceday role

The BHA, which a fortnight ago announced it had recruited Shaun Parker from South Africa as the new head of stewarding, has now turned its sights across the Atlantic in the search to fill another senior executive role.
The Racing Post understands Cathy O'Meara, a top-level manager for the US Jockey Club based in Lexington, Kentucky, is being targeted for the newly created post of head of raceday officials.
O'Meara, a former racehorse trainer and exercise rider, has worked for the US Jockey Club since 2006 and is currently manager for industry initiatives.
