BHA points to stewarding changes since Tylicki fall but will analyse judgement

The BHA said on Wednesday it would continue to monitor the area of stewarding and interference and would lead discussions with participants about the implications of the judgement in Freddy Tylicki's successful High Court case for damages against Graham Gibbons.

But the authority underlined that the stewarding landscape in Britain has already changed quite significantly in the years since Tylicki sustained life-changing injuries in a fall at Kempton in November 2016.

Meanwhile, former Group 1 winning jockey George Baker said he expected the BHA would conduct a major review into stewarding and the way the rules are applied in the wake of Judge Karen Walden-Smith's decision to accept the claim that Gibbons rode "in reckless disregard for the safety of Mr Tylicki".
