BHA 'back on budget' after impact of Covid-19 leads to £1 million operating loss

The BHA made an operating loss of £1 million last year with racing's governing body hit by the coronavirus pandemic, although chief executive Julie Harrington said cost cutting meant it was now "back on budget".

The financial impact of Covid-19 on racing's governing authority has been detailed in its annual accounts for 2020, which have been lodged with Companies House.

Once again the BHA has decided not to publish a full annual report but in a foreword to the statements Harrington said: "The financial issues we have faced are set out clearly in the accounts.
