Favourite Beware The Bear was one of a maximum number of declarations for Wednesday's Coral Welsh National along with 19 rivals.

Fellow leading fancies Chase The Spud, Rock The Kasbah and Wild West Wind also stood their ground, as did the Gordon Elliott-trained Irish raider Folsom Blue.

Trainer Kerry Lee, who has a victory in the Chepstow feature of her own following her father's excellent record in the race, is represented once more by Bishops Road, who finished tenth last year.

Elsewhere on the card, nine runners will do battle for the Grade 1 Coral Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle, including ante-post favourite Sussex Ranger for trainer Gary Moore.

Famous Milly and Mercenair also stood their ground for a race that was won 12 months ago by Defi Du Seuil and two years before that by Bristol De Mai.

Min is among six declared for Leopardstown's Grade 1 Paddy's Rewards Club Chase, won last year by stablemate Douvan.

His trainer Willie Mullins' title rival Gordon Elliott will attempt to prevent Min from claiming a second Group 1 with Ball D'Arc and Tell Us More, with Jack Kennedy riding the former.

Ordinary World represents Henry de Bromhead and Jessica Harrington fields Woodland Opera, while Nicky Richards sends over Simply Ned from Cumbria.

In the day's other Grade 1, Elliott and Mullins will do battle again as Mengli Khan, winner of the Royal Bond last time, will take on Real Steel in the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle.

The pair feature among seven declarations, with Willie Mullins responsible for four of the runners.
