Sheikh Fahad was on hand to watch his stalwart exercise on the Cambridge Road Polytrack, where he had a prime view from the metal watch tower at the seven-furlong pole. Formerly trained across town by Peter Chapple-Hyam, the six-year-old arrived at Trillium Place via Australia where he ran for Chris Waller last winter.

Lanigan's stable star got his head in front for the first time in two years at Thirsk last time. The five-year-old looked in good shape on the watered gallop and heads for the Group 3 Superior Mile at Haydock next month, a race in which he was beaten just a head a year ago.

Fresh from successfully waving her catalogue at the auctioneer in Deauville, Noseda's other half Kerri Radcliffe put the Albany Stakes third through her paces on the Al Bahathri on Friday. The daughter of Scat Daddy has some nice entries in September including the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes, but connections may want to win a maiden first.

The peat moss gallop on Racecourse Side was still usable on Saturday morning when Botti's jockey Antonio Fresu had the plum draw on this recent Doncaster winner. The son of Dark Angel had subsequent winner Qaroun in his wake on Town Moor and will take some stopping in a Listed contest at Haydock on September 9.
