Beckett out to create a storm at Doncaster with supplemented Wave

Ralph Beckett has already had one Classic prospect win in South Yorkshire this week and the trainer is hoping another can emerge in the shape of the hugely promising Stormwave, whose dazzling workout last weekend left connections in little doubt about paying the £17,500 supplementary fee for Saturday's Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster.

Owned by Abdulla Al Khalifa, Stormwave was a two-length winner of a Salisbury novice earlier this month and the signs he has given Beckett since have offered encouragement he is worth a try at the highest level in what used to be the Racing Post Trophy.

Bookmakers rate the Dalakhani colt, who will be ridden by Harry Bentley, a general 20-1 chance to reward his ambitious camp in a contest dominated by Aidan O'Brien inmates.
