Some ten-year-olds having their 100th start are there to make up the numbers but Noodles Blue Boy has genuine claims of marking the special occasion with victory on Tuesday.

The Ollie Pears-trained sprinter heads to his favourite track Beverley for the 5f handicap (3.20), defending a solid course record of four wins from 15 starts.

That strike-rate does not tell the full story as ‘Noodles’ notched another success on the Westwood when winning Britain’s first race for stable staff two years ago for Pears’s wife Vicky.
