Awesome Winx surges past Almanzor at head of 2016 turf standings

Winx proved that she is one of the best racehorses on the planet after landing the Cox Plate by an unbelievable eight lengths at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

She posted a career best RPR of 130 for her wide margin victory over chief rival Hartnell (118), with three-year-old Yankee Rose (108) staying on for third.

An RPR of 130 puts Winx ahead of Almanzor (129) at the top of the turf standings for 2016 and once you factor in a mares' allowance, it also puts her right up with world leader California Chrome (133).
