Awards nominee Fuller eyes November return to saddle
Amateur jump jockey Page Fuller, on the sidelines with a broken ankle, has received a boost after featuring among five riders to be nominated for the sport category of the Women of the Future Awards, which will be backed for the first time by the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival.
Fuller, who is attached to Jamie Snowden's Lambourn yard, is joined on the list by Yorkshire trainer Mick Easterby's granddaughter Jo Mason, Alice Mills, Becky Smith and Catherine Walton, who will compete with stars from other sports for the prize won last year by Paralympian Sophie Christiansen.
Any of the jockey nominations who pass muster with the Women of the Future Awards judging panel will be invited to attend an informal judging day on October 14 as part of the initial shortlisting process. The awards are open to all women aged 35 or under with permanent residency in the UK.
