Heartbreak City, whose victory in the Betfred Ebor prompted joyous celebrations in the York winner's enclosure, has been partially sold to Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock and will run in the Melbourne Cup.

The six-year-old will remain in the care of Tony Martin and will be tasked with providing his new part-owners with a first Melbourne Cup win after going close with Dandino and Jakkalberry in previous years.

"He ticked all the boxes we look for in a horse and we are confident that he will run extremely well for us," said Darren Dance, Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock's managing director.
