Atzeni bidding to make it four in a row on lucky track
Andrea Atzeni will be seeking to thwart Aidan O'Brien's Racing Post Trophy ambitions yet again on Saturday, when the jockey will bid for a remarkable fourth successive triumph in the race run on his 'lucky' track.
Ahead of his bid for a 22nd top-level victory of the year, O'Brien on Thursday reshuffled his team for the Doncaster prize, leaving out Investec Derby second favourite Capri and declaring three two-year-olds, headed by the Ryan Moore-ridden Yucatan, the evens favourite after heavy support on Wednesday.
Among the seven opposing the Ballydoyle trio is Atzeni's mount Rivet, winner of the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, who his rider believes will relish a return to Town Moor in what is the final Group 1 of the British Flat season.
