Award-winning Racing Post photographer Edward Whitaker was on Tuesday given rare behind-the-scenes access to Enable at John Gosden's Newmarket yard. Here he shares his impressions of meeting racing's superstar, who is set to run at York a week on Thursday:

There has been an army of superb fillies and mares sweeping the racing planet over the past two decades and at the head of this Amazonian tribe sits Enable, the queen of them all.

With a record-setting third Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe as the ultimate
goal in her final year of racing, the tension within the camp at John
Gosden’s Clarehaven Stables has been cranked up a notch or two after her recent pulsating victory over Crystal Ocean in the King George, and already there is an autumnal feel in the air as she gently continues her preparation for the first Sunday in October.
