Kew Gardens looks poised to tackle the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe next month after Aidan O’Brien pointed the way towards Longchamp for his William Hill St Leger winner.

The multiple champion trainer said the Arc on October 7 was the only race he had in mind for the son of Galileo, who gave O’Brien his third British Classic of the season when defeating Lah Ti Dar by two and a half lengths at Doncaster last Saturday.

Kew Gardens was on Wednesday a top-priced 16-1 for the Arc, which would represent a drop back to the same mile-and-a-half trip of his Grand Prix de Paris victory at Longchamp in June.
