Kameko will fly the flag for Britain as he takes on a battalion of Aidan O'Brien-trained runners in the Group 1 Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes (3.25) at Doncaster on Saturday.

The Andrew Balding-trained juvenile, who will be ridden by champion jockey Oisin Murphy, was entered alongside 11 O'Brien contenders and will face five of them following the final declaration stage.

His main rivals include 1-2 favourite Mogul, winner of the Group 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown last month, and Innisfree, last seen narrowly winning the Beresford Stakes.

The Ballydoyle contingent is completed by Louisiana, who steps up to Group company for the first time, Iberia and Royal County Down.

O'Brien has not yet announced jockey bookings, but Ryan Moore will be out of contention as he takes rides aboard Hunting Horn and Magic Wand at Moonee Valley in Australia.

The trainer is bidding for a third successive victory in the race after winning with 2,000 Guineas winners Saxon Warrior in 2017 and Magna Grecia last year.
