Powerful Australian owner Lloyd Williams may have claimed four Melbourne Cups already but his passion for finding the winner is undiminished as he prepares a four-pronged attack on Tuesday's race.

Williams headed to Werribee on Friday to check on the progress of Bondi Beach, owned in partnership with Messrs Magnier, Smith and Tabor, and was pleased with what he saw.

Bondi Beach finished down the field in last year's renewal but Williams agrees with the assessment of Aidan O'Brien's travelling foreman TJ Comerford that the four-year-old has improved, and also reserved high praise for the trainer.
