A documentary showcasing the fairytale rise of Gordon Lord Byron premiered in the Killashee House Hotel in County Kildare on Sunday evening, just a few hours after the eight-year-old finished down the field on unfavourably soft ground in the Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh.

The film, entitled Against The Odds – Racing With Gordon Lord Byron, was created by Nicholas Ryan-Purcell, who began the project in February 2015.

The documentary brilliantly illustrates the fact that the Gordon Lord Byron story was almost over before it had began, when the €2,000 son of Byron suffered a near fatal pelvic injury on his first start at Roscommon in 2010.
