Affordability checks: Gambling Commission reveals more 'targeted' approach

Gambling industry representatives have welcomed what they described as a more "targeted" approach to the subject of affordability checks from the Gambling Commission revealed on Tuesday.
The industry regulator has issued an update on its work on the controversial issue having outlined proposals earlier this year which have been deeply worrying for both gambling operators and the racing industry.
A commission consultation on remote customer interaction, which closed in February, included a proposal that a monthly net gambling loss of as little as £100 would mean punters would have to prove their income in order to continue to bet.
