Arc appoint Mark Spincer as new managing director
Arena Racing Company (Arc) has announced Mark Spincer as the new managing director of the company's racing division.
The new role will see Spincer have responsibility for the company's 16 racecourses and four greyhound stadiums.
Spincer will take over the role with immediate effect and has worked with Arc for more than 12 years, having previously been executive director of Newcastle and Doncaster racecourses.
He said of his appointment: "I'm very much looking forward to taking on this new role. Delivering fantastic events and excellent customer experiences have been at the heart of my Arc career and will continue to be the focus moving forward."
Nick Bannister announced as new chairman of Haydock
Cheltenham Festival-winning owner Nick Bannister has been appointed the new chairman of Haydock.
Bannister, who takes over the role from Lord Daresbury, has a close connection with jump racing as he enjoyed success with RSA winner Hussard Collonges, while his eldest son Harry is a professional jockey.
He said: "I'm delighted and honoured to be taking over the chairmanship of Haydock from Lord Daresbury. Racing faces many challenges as we move into a new decade and I am much looking forward to working with Dickon White, regional director north-west, and the rest of his executive team."
Additional fixture for Plumpton on Monday after loss of Wednesday card
Plumpton will host an additional meeting next Monday following the cancellation of its fixture on Wednesday due to waterlogging.
The six-race card will begin at 1.40, with entries closing on Saturday at 12 noon, while the declaration stage will take place on Sunday at 10am.
