Charlie Appleby feels his Derby and King George winner Adayar is going into Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe "bang on" despite missing his intended trial through injury.

Adayar on Thursday was handed a moderate draw in stall 11, but he is 5-2 favourite with most bookmakers to land his third straight Group 1 in Paris, where he is the choice of Godolphin's number-one jockey William Buick over stablemate and dual Classic winner Hurricane Lane, who will race from stall two under James Doyle.

Both three-year-olds sailed through their final key pieces of work at Appleby's Moulton Paddocks base in Newmarket on Thursday morning and their trainer could not be happier with the duo.
