Absent Fahey sets sights on Breeders' Cup for Abbaye ace The Platinum Queen

Richard Fahey is keen to test The Platinum Queen at the Breeders' Cup after watching from home as the flying filly landed a historic success in Sunday's Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp.

Run on the 5f track at the centre of the course, the Abbaye can be a puzzling spectacle even for television viewers and Fahey admitted he had to wait to celebrate as The Platinum Queen became the first juvenile since 1978 to win the Group 1.

"I never made it over there and missed out but it was good watching from here," he said on Monday morning. "It's a funny race to watch and it was a bit frustrating as I didn't know where the winning post was even after she'd passed it.
