There are two meetings on Wednesday at Lingfield and Kempton on the all-weather. Here are statistics from both tracks which could help your punting . . .

Lingfield

If you backed David O'Meara blind at Lingfield in the last five years, you would be in profit to the tune of £12.38 to level stakes. He sends just one runner on the 474-mile round trip from his North Yorkshire base and that is Starshiba(12.45).

The six-year-old fell short in his bid for a course hat-trick when third over 7f on New Year's Eve, but he was well backed that day and was beaten only a length after being slowly away. He is unexposed as a miler and, kept on the same rating, he should be tough to keep out of the frame.

The silver silks of Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum have enjoyed plenty of success at Lingfield too. From 57 runners in the last five years, the leading owner has enjoyed 14 winners for a level-stakes profit of £23.12.

He will be represented by the Charlie Johnston-trained Downtown Dubai (3.15), who was last seen finishing third at Southwell in a nursery last month. Beaten just a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Kempton in November, a replication of that form should be enough in this contest.

Kempton

Andrew Balding has sent five runners to Kempton this year and four have won. That 80 per cent strike-rate has yielded a level-stakes profit of £44 and Brora Breeze (7.00) is his sole representative on Wednesday's card.

A daughter of Shirocco, she has shown promise in two starts, latterly with a fast-finishing fourth at Lingfield. An extra three furlongs are just what she needs and that could spark the improvement needed to play a big role here.

Another with a good strike-rate at Kempton in 2023 is Jamie Spencer, who boasts three winners from seven rides for a level-stakes profit of £24. He has five rides, but his biggest chance is undoubtedly Simply Sin (5.30).

The eight-year-old was returning from a stint in Jersey when scoring by four lengths over course and distance three weeks ago. He has gone up 8lb for that success, but he remains lightly raced for his age and that rise may not be enough to stop him going in again.

Jamie Spencer's rides at Kempton:

5.30 Simply Sin
6.30 Profitable Dawn
7.00 Kingston Joy
7.30 Glittering Lights
8.00 Kincade
