Big strike-rates and a top combo - key stats to help you find a Monday winner
There are three meetings on Monday at Taunton, Ayr and Wolverhampton. Here are statistics from each track which could help your punting . . .
Taunton
Gavin Sheehan is 2-2 on Throne Hall (3.00) and bids to extend the perfect record in the 2m3f handicap hurdle.
The Archie Watson-trained six-year-old won his first two starts in novice hurdles under Sheehan and most recently finished fourth behind Supreme hope Rare Edition at Kempton last month.
Throne Hall, who is rated 94 on the Flat, makes his handicap hurdle debut off a mark of 124 and looks a player in an open event.
Ayr
Daryl Jacob has won on six of his ten rides at Ayr this season for a level stakes profit of £20.65. He has three rides on Monday, but his biggest chance according to the market is Isenay in the bumper (3.55).
He made his debut at Punchestown in April and finished a promising sixth, despite racing wide and keenly throughout.
That experience should stand him in good stead and with improvement expected, he can firmly enter calculations.
Wolverhampton
Phil Kirby has a ten per cent strike-rate at Wolverhampton and Kevin Stott operates at an 18 per cent strike-rate at the all-weather venue. When combining, however, their record improves to 33 per cent.
Kirby and Stott team up in the concluding 1m1½f handicap with Busby (8.30), who arrives in fine form.
The eight-year-old has form figures of 112 over course and distance last month, with his Racing Post Rating improving with each start. He recorded an RPR of 78 last time and runs off an official mark of 73.
