100 not out: Archie Watson in wonderland as trainer joins Lambourn legends

Archie Watson joined an exclusive club when Times Past's victory at Southwell on Tuesday meant he became only the fourth Lambourn trainer to record 100 winners in a campaign.

Watson, in only his second full season with a licence, is now part of an illustrious list that also includes village legends Nicky Henderson, Barry Hills and Peter Walwyn.

The 29-year-old, who also became a Royal Ascot and Group winner this term thanks to exciting sprinter Soldier's Call, was understandably thrilled to reach the landmark with Times Past, who won Southwell's 7f nursery under Eddy Greatrex.
