Front-runner can dictate proceedings in Happy Valley Vase

It is a great achievement for any apprentice to ride out his claim in Hong Kong’s international ranks, so Dylan Mo is a young talent worth following – which his rivals may also be doing when he partners Circuit Glory in the Happy Valley Vase (12.15).

Circuit Glory is a bold front-runner and, having drawn gate four, Mo is expected to take him straight into the lead and dictate throughout in this 1m1f handicap.

Mo's next victory will be his 70th and with it he will graduate to senior jockey status. Not bad for a rider who partnered his first winner just 28 months ago.

This is a tricky race, however, with many boasting solid credentials, but Circuit Glory, a New Zealand-bred son of Tavistock, made all under Karis Teetan over a mile at the Valley last time, and Mo also knows him well, having finished second on him previously.

Zac Purton’s mount Insayshable is very smart at his best and had a particularly hard run from a wide draw when behind Circuit Glory last time. Expect him to be sitting in the box-seat here.

Mo also has an excellent ride in the shape of the former Richard Hannon-trained Magnificent in the 1m½f handicap (2.50).

The four-year-old dead-heated at a huge price (188-1) at Happy Valley on his last start, with the other dead-heater, Encouraging, going on to win again at Sha Tin on Sunday.

Now his form in Hong Kong has picked up, he can win again at a decent price for trainer Peter Ho. Har Har Heart, a regular in the runner-up stall, could again fill that placing.

One other worthy of note is Happy Warrior, who can win the 1m½f handicap (12.45). He has been racing consistently for John Moore and looks to be Purton’s best ride on the card.
