'Special' talent Dreamloper to be offered at Keeneland's breeding stock sale

Ed Walker's Group 1 star Dreamloper is to be offered at Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale after an intended start at Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup meeting.

The five-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega, bred by Olivia Hoare, has won both the Prix d'Ispahan and Prix du Moulin this year and has the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile as her first preference.

Dreamloper’s 2022 campaign began with a win in the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket, while last year she took the Valiant Stakes at Ascot and was third in the Group 1 Sun Chariot.

“Dreamloper has been amazing,” said Walker. “She’s just got better and better as time has gone on. She was a Group winner last season, then showed real battling qualities to win the Dahlia Stakes on her return this season.

"She was impressive in the Ispahan before that amazing win in the Prix du Moulin. You don’t win a Group 1 by five and a half lengths without being very special.

“She’s an incredibly good-moving, athletic filly with an electric turn of foot. She’s very sound, very tough and very genuine. She’s fabulous."

Dreamloper is out of Listed winner Livia’s Dream, by Teofilo, and from the family of Group 2 winner Thomas Hobson.

“Keeneland is honoured to have such an outstanding mare as Dreamloper travel from Europe not only to compete in the Breeders’ Cup but to be part of Book 1 of the November Breeding Stock Sale two days after she races," said Keeneland vice-president of sales Tony Lacy.

"Her appearance in the auction underscores the international significance of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale to the global thoroughbred industry and will put her on a stage for all the world to see.”

Book 1 starts on November 7 and Keeneland will accept supplements to Book 1 until the auction begins.
