Goffs and Sandown have teamed up to inaugurate a boutique sale of point-to-pointers to be held at the Betfair Tingle Creek meeting on Saturday, December 3.

The sale, which will be staged as the Goffs Tingle Creek Sale, represents a new partnership between Goffs and Sandown and will become the first sale to be held at one of the headline pre-Christmas fixtures.

The auction will be on the second day of the meeting, with racing that day including not just the Tingle Creek but also the Grade 1 Close Brothers Henry VIII Novices’ Chase, and will take place after racing at 4pm in the winner's enclosure.

All entries will be housed in the racecourse stables and showing will be held on the summer lawn, immediately opposite the pre-parade ring and beside the paddock and grandstand.

Goffs group CEO Henry Beeby and Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said in a joint-statement: “We are constantly looking for ways to grow our sales and this new initiative with Sandown Park shapes as an exciting opportunity. The Betfair Tingle Creek festival is a major National Hunt meeting featuring some outstanding racing and its London location offers us access to a huge audience, so we feel this is the ideal time and place to launch a new boutique sale of pointers.

“We have proven our ability to conduct world-class offsite boutique sales, our Aintree and Punchestown sales are both great examples of what we have achieved in this sector, and we see great potential in this new venture."

They added: "We would like to thank the Sandown Park executive for their enthusiasm in getting this concept off the ground, they have really bought into the idea and have given us a superb location to show the horses and host the auction, which will be right in the heart of the action during the festival. Together, we look forward to the first Goffs Tingle Creek Sale on December 3.”

Sandown's general manager Sarah Drabwell said: “The Betfair Tingle Creek festival is one of our marquee fixtures here at Sandown Park, and with jump racing of the highest quality we are delighted to be partnering with Goffs to bring the very best in young equine talent to Esher on the first weekend in December.

“It should add a thrilling finish to a day which is a favourite for many racing fans and local racegoers, and we are hugely excited to be bringing a sale of this quality to Sandown Park.”
