Siyouni's first €20,000 crop throws up two Classic contenders

Arqana broke new ground last November when a one-50th share in Siyouni was sold via its online platform for €960,000. It was a tremendous figure indicative of the great strides made by the stallion and duly set a new Arqana benchmark for an online sale.

What was particularly striking was the fevered interest in the auction, with it attracting registrations from no fewer than 20 different parties. In the end, it was Laurent Benoit of the Broadhurst Agency who won out on behalf of SAS Haras Voltaire.

Three years before, shares in Siyouni were changing on the same platform for between €330,000 and €360,000 while it was only as recently as 2014 that breeders could get to the horse at a fee of €7,000. This year, the figure stands at €100,000, making the son of Pivotal the most expensive stallion in France.
